A same day dentist is a dental provider who can see you on the same day you call — often within hours. Unlike scheduling a routine check-up weeks in advance, same day dental care is designed around urgency and accessibility.
At Dr. Fay Hu's practice in Winter Park, same day dentistry encompasses two core areas:
This combination of urgent availability and advanced technology sets Fay Hu General Dentistry apart from most dental offices in the Orlando and Winter Park area.
If you're experiencing any of the following, do not wait. Call our Winter Park office immediately at (407) 349-4835 to be seen as soon as possible:
Dr. Fay Hu has been in private practice since 1998 and has treated thousands of dental emergencies over her career. Her Winter Park office is fully equipped to handle urgent dental situations with the clinical expertise, advanced technology, and genuine compassion patients need when they're in pain.
If you are experiencing difficulty breathing or swallowing, severe uncontrolled bleeding, or facial swelling that is spreading rapidly toward your throat or eye, go to your nearest emergency room or call 911 immediately. These may indicate a serious infection that requires immediate medical — not just dental — intervention. For all other dental emergencies, Dr. Hu's office is your fastest path to relief.
Dr. Fay Hu, DMD, has been practicing dentistry in Winter Park since 1998 — over 25 years of clinical experience. She earned her dental degrees from Sun Yat-Sen University, the University of Florida, and the University of Pennsylvania. She has been recognized by her peers as one of Greater Orlando's Top Dentists every year since 2007.
Dr. Hu serves as a dental examiner for the Florida Dental License Board and is a supporting doctor for the National Sjögren's Syndrome Foundation. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, and the Greater Orlando Dental Association.
Dr. Hu is known for her gentle touch and commitment to patient comfort. Her multilingual team is fluent in Chinese and Spanish, ensuring that patients from diverse backgrounds feel understood and at ease. From the moment you call to the moment you leave the chair, the entire team is focused on your wellbeing.
Patient Sara G. shared: "I have a fairly substantial dental anxiety and this has been the kindest, most compassionate experience at a dentist I've had."
Unlike some urgent dental clinics that only treat extractions or basic emergencies, Dr. Hu's full-service practice can address a wide range of same-day needs — from emergency pain relief to complex same-day restorations. You won't be bounced from office to office.
We also offer complimentary 30-minute consultations and second opinions for patients who want to explore their options before committing to a treatment plan.
Time is critical. If a permanent tooth has been knocked out, handle it by the crown (top), not the root. Rinse gently without scrubbing. Try to reinsert it into the socket if possible, or store it in milk or between your cheek and gum to keep it moist. Call us immediately — the sooner you arrive, the better the chance of saving the tooth.
Rinse with warm salt water to clean the area. Gently floss to remove any trapped debris. Do not place aspirin directly on the gum — it can cause chemical burns. Over-the-counter pain relievers (taken as directed) can provide temporary relief. Call us right away.
Rinse your mouth with warm water. Save any broken pieces. Apply a cold compress to your cheek to reduce swelling. Avoid chewing on the affected side. Call our office.
You can temporarily protect the exposed tooth with dental cement (available at most pharmacies) or even a piece of sugar-free gum in a pinch. Call us to be seen as soon as possible — exposed dentin is sensitive and vulnerable to further damage.
An abscess is a serious infection and should never be ignored. Signs include a severe, persistent toothache, fever, facial swelling, and a pimple-like bump on the gums. Rinse with mild salt water several times a day for temporary relief, and call our office immediately. If swelling is spreading rapidly, go to the ER.
Fay Hu General Dentistry has been a trusted part of the Winter Park community for over 25 years. Dr. Hu is deeply committed to the community she serves. She actively contributes to dental education, serves on professional boards, and has treated generations of Winter Park families. As one of the few Chinese dentists in the Orlando area, she also provides a uniquely welcoming environment for patients who prefer to communicate in Chinese or Spanish.
